PREFACE
This study examines the implementation and impact of the National
Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in District Budgam, Jammu and
Kashmir, which comprises nine tehsils and 13 educational zones.
The research provides a detailed account of the local educational
advancements under the NEP framework, focusing on previously
underexplored areas. The survey conducted in the district revealed
that all teachers are familiar with the key elements of NEP 2020.
Although 60.75% of teachers have received training on the policy,
opinions on its effectiveness are mixed, with the majority rating it as
moderately effective. While Principals/ Headmasters generally feel
moderately equipped to implement NEP 2020, many express a sense
of unpreparedness. On the other hand, most teachers believe that
students are adapting well to the new curriculum, and there has been a
