KASHMIR & NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 || DR. AMARPREET KOUR

INTRODUCTION

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which was officially
announced by the NDA government under the leadership of Hon’ble
Prime Minister Narender Modi on July 29, 2020. It was shaped under
the stewardship of Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, former head of
the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), represents a major
overhaul of India’s education system. In Jammu and Kashmir, it has
been implemented under the guidance of Hon’able Chief Minister Omar
Abdullah and the Education Minister.
The present research project, titled “Investigating the Impact of NEP
2020 in District Budgam”, seeks to evaluate how the NEP 2020 is
being implemented at the grassroots level in District Budgam, Jammu
and Kashmir, and its effects on the local educational system. The study
examines various aspects of NEP 2020, such as curriculum reforms,
teacher training, digital education, and the inclusion of local languages.
