ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN AT DIET/
SCERT LEVEL
18. Need to provide practical and continuous training to
teachers at school level, specially w.r.t. new directions in
NEP 2020: To ensure the effective implementation of NEP
2020, DIET and SCERT should focus on continuous offline and
online training for teachers, providing them with the necessary
skills and ensuring sustained learning through follow-ups.
Fair selection processes for training programs are crucial to
ensure all teachers have access to professional development.
ICT labs should be equipped with trained instructors, offering
regular hands-on training to ensure teachers are comfortable
using technology. Rural teachers should be provided additional
resources and support to address the unique challenges they
face, such as limited resources and diverse student backgrounds.
Training sessions must be interactive and hands-on, including
expert talks and group activities to make learning more
engaging and practical. Basic technology training should be
provided to teachers to enable them to handle tasks like using
computers, smartboards, and printers independently. Finally,
a robust monitoring system should track teacher participation
in training programs, ensuring follow-ups and adjustments to
improve engagement and effectiveness. These measures will
strengthen the teaching workforce, enabling the successful
implementation of NEP 2020.
19. Ensuring active participation in training programs:
Attendance in training programs is critical, and proper
monitoring systems must be in place to ensure active
participation. Departmental tests should be conducted and
weightage of these tests could be one of the criteria for higher
increments and promotion. If a person attends any national
training program, it should be compulsory to file a detailed
