resource sharing to bridge these gaps.
Moreover, there is no proper authority to rationalize resources for
schools with limited facilities. Effective management is needed,
especially to ensure that students can access well-equipped educational
institutions and a structured academic environment.
NEP 2020 is a visionary policy with the potential to revolutionize
education in India. However, addressing gaps in human resources,
infrastructure, and training is critical to realizing its vision. With
proper financial and infrastructural support from the government,
alongside well-trained teachers, we can successfully implement the
policy and achieve the desired outcomes.
Boys High School (BHS) Ichgam was upgraded to a high school
in 1954. However, there has been no significant upgradation of its
infrastructure. The school lacks basic facilities such as an ICT lab, a
smart board, vocational staff, playway teaching resources, and a solar
panel. Additionally, there are network issues, and the school does not
have a functional kitchen.
Boys High School Brinjan, located in Zone Nagam, is a village situated
on a hill. During the survey, a common observation was the presence
of cracks in several buildings, including the school structures. Most
of the parents in the area are laborers who leave early and return late,
primarily engaged in construction work like laying concrete slabs
(lanter).
The school’s accommodations are inadequate. The Aga’s lab has
been set up in the headmaster’s room, the ICT lab is accommodated
in the staff room, and an additional classroom has been arranged in
the battery storage section. This poses a significant risk, as a battery
explosion could occur at any time, endangering the safety of everyone.
The situation remains hazardous, and until proper space is allocated,
implementing quality education and safety measures will remain a
challenge.
High School Brenwar, located in Zone Chadoora, has very limited
space. Due to this shortage, students have been shifted to the battery
storage section. This poses a significant risk, as a battery explosion
could occur at any time, endangering everyone’s safety.
Teacher training is crucial for creating a conducive learning
environment and ensuring the successful implementation of NEP 2020.
